The Ooni of Ife Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi led his entourage to perform a traditional rite as part of his America tour. The traditional rite ceremony which involved purification fire raised in a calabash was performed at the Smithsonian Museum of African Art, Washington DC yesterday June 21st.
The rising smoke from the traditional rite caused a scare as concerned members of the public oblivion of the ceremony in panic call in the Washington D.C fire brigade.
The fire brigade actually stormed the venue after they were called in following displays of fire and smoke but they later left after they were informed of what was really happening.
